Advancing Your Game
Advancing Your Game sessions will focus on bidding, defending and playing techniques that will help intermediate players and experienced beginners advance their bridge skills.
Advancing Your Game topics: No Trump and its Gadgets, Major and Minor Suit Openers, Defence, Preempts and Strong Two Club Openers, Overcalls, Takeout Doubles and Competitive Auctions. Further information can be found on our Course Outline.
The fee for this course is $100 plus $15 for the course handbook.
Advancing Your Game will be taught virtually, using Zoom technology, by Mary Lynne Howe. It will consist of 8 sessions to be held on Monday afternoons from 2:00 to 4:15 starting on Monday, March 8, 2021. Students will receive an email before each lesson with the hotlink to the online Zoom classroom. You do not need to load the Zoom software ahead of time since it will automatically load onto your computer when you click the hotlink in your weekly email message.

Bridge Basics I
Bridge Basics I is a general introduction to the game of bridge that includes basic terminology, bidding, and card play. This course is designed for individuals with no bridge experience or for those who are returning to bridge after an extended absense from the game.
Course Topics: Hand evaluation, the bidding ladder, no-trump opening bids and basic responses, minor suit opening bids and basic responses, major suit opening bids and basic responses. Hand play and defense will be included in each class.
Bridge Basics I is being offered online by Hazel Hewitt. It will consist of 10 online lessons, two online playing sessions with a mentor and two sessions at the Club when it opens. Lessons are in groups of 4 and friends can sign up together. These lessons are for small groups - in essence private lessons. The start date and times will be established by the participants.
